The SUNY Broome women's soccer team suffered an 8-0 defeat against Genesee CC on Saturday.
The Hornets had early opportunities, including a strong chance in the opening minutes when Adrianna Finta's shot struck the post after a well-placed cross from Paige Weaver, but came up empty. Genesee, meanwhile, capitalized on its opportunities and scored four goals in the first half and four more in the second.
Hornets goalkeeper Zephora Brouillette made an incredible 29 saves in her first collegiate appearance in goal.
With the loss, SUNY Broome falls to 0-2-1 on the season. The team will get a week-long break until a road matchup with Herkimer College on Saturday, September 13.
