Cannistra Earns A Spot On All-Region

SUNY Broome baseball standout Kaiden Cannistra was recently named to the NJCAA Region 3 All-Region Third Team.

In his 2026 campaign, Cannistra delivered a season that will likely be regarded as the program gold standard for years to come. Instrumental and effective in the field, on the base paths, and at the plate, Cannistra showcased his multi-tool and do-it-all ability this season.

One of the top hitters in NJCAA Region 3 for the entirety of the 2026 season, Cannistra finished his year with a .448 batting average which ranked 7th best in the Region.

For the Hornets, among qualified hitters, Cannistra was the team's leader in average, on-base percentage (.547), slugging percentage (.552), OPS (1.099), total hits (43), walks (16), and runs (27). He was second on the team in RBI (20), steals (14), and extra-base hits (8). With an exceptional eye for the strike zone and great bat-to-ball skills, Cannistra also walked twice as many times (16) as he struck out (8) this season.
