Kaiden Cannistra and Santino Michitti were named to the MSAC All-Conference team. Additionally, Luke Grassi was deemed an All-Conference Honorable Mention.
Cannistra finished the 2026 season as one of the top hitters in the Conference and the Region, as his .448 average at the end of the season was 3rd highest in the Conference and 7th highest in the Region. Additionally, among players with a qualified number of at-bats, he was the Hornets' top hitter, leading the team in batting average (.448), on-base percentage (.547), slugging percentage (.552), OPS (1.099), and total hits (43). He also led the team in walks (16) and runs (27), was second on the team in RBI (20), second in stolen bases (14), and second in extra-base hits (8). Remarkably, Cannistra also walked twice as many times (16) as he struck out (8) this season.
Also among the top hitters in the Conference and the Region, while playing excellent defense at Catcher, Michitti was the Hornets' second-leading hitter. Among players with a qualified number of at-bats, he was second on the team in batting average (.340), fifth in on-base percentage (.392), third in slugging percentage (.495), and third in OPS (.887). He was also second on the team in total hits (35) and third on the team in runs (16). Michitti led the team in extra-base hits (15), doubles (14), and RBI (25). He also walked more times (9) than he struck out (8) this season.
Grassi was regarded as the Hornets' leading Starting Pitcher this season. A hard-throwing right hander, Grassi made 11 pitching appearances this season, starting eight games. He acquired two wins. Across 41.1 innings, Grassi allowed 37 hits. He accumulated 34 strikeouts, and pitched to a K/9 of 7.40, both of which led the Hornets' pitching staff.
Congratulations to Cannistra, Michitti, and Grassi for their achievements this season.
