The men's basketball program begins its 2025-26 season this weekend.
The Hornets will open their regular season at home vs Luzerne County CC at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1.
SUNY Broome will feature a new coaching staff this season as former Assistant Coach Eric Edwards was elevated to the Interim Head Coach position this past Spring. James Walker and Anthony McNeil will assist Edwards in his first season at the helm of the Hornets.
The Hornets will look to surround a skilled and cohesive returning unit with new incoming talent as seven members of the 2024-25 team return for this season.
SUNY Broome will face a strong litmus test early in the season with only two home games in the month of November and six away from home. The Hornets return to Baldwin Gymnasium for two exciting matchups in December to close out the Fall semester as they host the #1 and #2 teams in the NJCAA Division 3 Men's Basketball Preseason Poll in Mohawk Valley CC and Herkimer College. The Hawks and Generals met in the NJCAA Division 3 National Championship Game last season as the Hawks were crowned the National Champion and the Generals were the National Runner-Up.
The Hornets then open the Spring semester with four home games in the month of January. Three are against Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) opponents. SUNY Broome finishes its regular season with seven straight MSAC matchups, the last coming on the road at Jefferson CC on February 21.
