The victory marked the Hornets first win on their new home court, Baldwin Gymnasium, and started their season off with a 1-0 record.
A comparison of errors and kills showed how evenly-fought the match was. The Hornets and Red Barons committed 20 errors each, while SUNY Broome narrowly collected more kills than Corning by a 38-31 margin. The Hornets registered their highest hitting percentage in the decisive fifth set, collecting six kills and committing just one error in 17 total attempts.
Nevaeh Masso was the leading point-getter for the Hornets as she tallied 30 points in the match on 21 kills, seven service aces, 15 digs, one solo block, and two block assists. Amariah Argro tallied nine kills, two service aces, and eight digs. Kendra Terrell had a match-high 33 assists to go with two service aces and five digs.
