The men's soccer team hosted Erie CC over the weekend and came from behind to secure a 2-1 win.
Erie got on the board first with a goal in the first half, maintaining the 1-0 advantage into the second half.
Despite consistent offensive pushes by SUNY Broome, the Hornets ultimately saw their chances in the first half get stymied by a physical Kats defense.
But the Hornets' defense kept them in the game, especially with the play and communication of the back line and goalkeeper Tyler Whiting.
Finally, in the 51st minute, Jaiden Insixiengmay evened the score at 1-1 on an assist from Oratile Moroka. In the 73rd minute, Corey Cottrell put the Hornets ahead on an assist from Mario Moretin.
The newfound momentum helped the Hornets' defense stifle Erie in the final 15+ minutes of the contest to hold on for the win. Whiting collected seven saves in goal for SUNY Broome.
