Women's Throwers Dominate At Region 3 Championship

The throwers from the SUNY Broome women's track & field team had a stellar collective performance at the NJCAA Region 3 Championship meet.
Aisling King was the Region 3 Runner-Up in the shot put event as she threw a distance of 10.18 meters. In the discus, King threw a distance of 26.99 meters and took 4th place.
Hannah Sanford was the Region 3 Runner-Up in the discus, throwing a distance of 27.77 meters. She also reached 7.38 meters in the shot put and 16.84 meters in the javelin.
Lastly, Gabriella Vazquez was the Region 3 Runner-Up in the javelin as she threw a distance of 23.70 meters. This set a personal record for Vazquez in the event. She also threw 7.67 meters in the shot put and 22.60 meters in the discus.
All in all, the women racked up a total of four placing-finishes, with three 2nd place results and a 4th place result. King, Sanford, and Vazquez combined to score 28 points.
All three will be competing in the upcoming NJCAA Division 3 National Championship meet.
