The Hornets held a brief lead midway through the first quarter, but Hudson Valley controlled the contest from that point on.
SUNY Broome was never out of the game, continuously hanging around and even later cutting the deficit as low as five in the third quarter, but the Vikings had an answer for each Hornets' run.
Despite a strong defensive effort which limited Hudson Valley to 32.7% from the field, the Hornets struggled to a 31.3% clip from the field themselves. The Hornets also outrebounded Hudson Valley, but turned the ball over more times than the Vikings.
Adrianna Finta led SUNY Broome with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds. Nnyala Stark added eight points off the bench. Zephora Brouillette had six. Juliana Turner collected 10 rebounds and Natalie Andi had seven.
SUNY Broome fell to 1-2 with the loss.
