Dantuono Takes Home Region 3 Championship In Two Events
Joseph Dantuono was the NJCAA Region 3 Champion in two events at the NJCAA Region 3 Championship meet.

Dantuono took 1st place in the shot put by throwing a distance of 12.19 meters. Additionally, he took 1st place in the discus by throwing a distance of 36.29 meters. This distance also set a personal record and met the qualifying standard for the NJCAA National Championship meet.
Right behind Dantuono and his 1st place finishes was Avery Palumbo, who finished 2nd overall in the 400 meter hurdles, setting a personal record and a school record with a time of 1:00.01, just barely missing breaking a minute.
Also grabbing a 2nd place finish was the 4x400 meter relay team, which consisted of Palumbo, Nevan Doubleday, Bryson Castro, and Maaz Hussain. The team ran a time of 3:44.59.
Jacob Quail added to the successful day of placing-finishes. He took 6th place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:23.38, which set a personal record.
Kevin Montoya came away from the meet with a PR himself, setting a personal-best mark in the discus with a distance of 19.44 meters. He also threw 7.92 meters in the shot put.
Muhammad Abbas had another PR with a time of 1:00.46 in the 400 meter dash.
Ethan Austin participated in the 100 meter dash and ran a 12.13.
Castro ran the 400 meter dash in 57.19 seconds and the 800 meter run in a time of 2:31.74.
Doubleday ran 11.89 seconds in the 100 meter dash.
Hussain recorded a time of 25.66 seconds in the 200 meter dash.
Pharvensky Pamphil jumped 4.96 meters in the long jump and 11.72 meters in the triple jump.
Overall, the men tallied two 1st place finishes, two 2nd place finishes, and a 6th place finish. The Hornets combined to score 37 points and finished 4th out six teams involved in the meet.
Several members of the men's track & field team will compete in the upcoming NJCAA Division 3 National Championship meet.
