Men Set Multiple Personal Records At Capital District Classic

Leading the way was Bryson Castro who set a PR in the 400 meter dash at 53.52 seconds. Castro also set a school record with this time, surpassing the record set by his teammate Nevan Doubleday last weekend of 55.93. Castro had another PR in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:10.22.
Kevin Montoya also set a PR in the shot put with a distance of 8.34 meters.
Additionally, Pharvensky Pamphil had a PR in the triple jump by jumping a distance of 12.54 meters.
Muhammad Abbas secured another PR by running the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:01.27.
Thomas Strong had the final PR on the day for the men, with a distance of 5.99 meters in the long jump.
Joseph Dantuono registered a distance of 11.74 meters in the shot put.
Doubleday saw action in three events on the day. He ran the 100 meter dash in 11.63 seconds, the 200 meter dash in 23.40 seconds, and the 400 meter dash in 56.15 seconds.
Lastly, Avery Palumbo had the Hornets' lone placing-performance of the day as he got 8th place in the 400 meter hurdles event. His time of 1:01.81 was his best of the season and also met the qualifying standard for the NJCAA National Championship.
Friday's invitational was the last of the regular season for SUNY Broome. Next, the Hornets will compete at the NJCAA Region 3 Championship meet on May 2, which will be hosted by Mohawk Valley CC.
