Sage Tifft placed 7th overall in the women's 5K race at the NJCAA Region 3 Championship meet on Saturday.
Tifft completed the 5K in a time of 25:43.53, which was a pace of 8:17 per mile. The time of 25:43.53 is right in line with Tifft's personal best for a 5K at 25:43.00, which she set earlier this season at the SUNY Delhi Bronco Classic. The 25:43.53 mark also marks an improvement from her time of 26:29 in the 5K at the Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) Championship meet on October 18.
With the top-8 finish at the NJCAA Region 3 Championship, Tifft earned a spot on the NJCAA Region 3 All-Region team for women's cross country. She also qualified for the NJCAA Division 3 Cross Country National Championship meet next weekend. Tifft will be coming off one of her best times on the season as she prepares to make her collegiate cross country National Championship debut.
The meet will be hosted by Iowa Central Community College and it will take place on November 9 at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
