Rouhana Places 3rd Overall At Regionals, Qualifies For National Championship
Zavien Rouhana placed 3rd overall in the men's 8K race at the NJCAA Region 3 Championship meet on Saturday.

Rouhana ran a time of 29:07.44, which was a pace of 5:52 per mile. Rouhana has been peaking and putting together his best performances as the season has progressed, especially in the last two postseason meets. Rouhana shaved more than a minute off his previous best 8K time from earlier this season when he ran a 30:17.3 at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational.
With the 3rd place overall finish, Rouhana secured a spot on the NJCAA Region 3 All-Region team for men's cross country, in addition to qualifying for the NJCAA Division 3 Cross Country National Championship meet next weekend. He will now turn his focus toward preparing to make his collegiate cross country National Championship debut.
The meet will be hosted by Iowa Central Community College and it will take place on November 9 at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Jacob Quail was next in line for the Hornets, securing a top-25 finish and a time of 34:42.52. He shaved nearly two minutes off his previous best 8K time which was a 36:26.1 at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational earlier this season. Alexander Asinovsky was the final SUNY Broome finisher on the day, logging a time of 39:28.55.
