Men's Track & Field Named An All-Academic Team By USTFCCCA, 4 Members Named All-Academic Athletes
The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their All-Academic awards today for the 2024-25 track & field season.
The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their All-Academic awards today for the 2024-25 track & field season.
After finishing the season with an overall team GPA of 3.42, the SUNY Broome men's track & field team was recognized as an NJCAA Men's Track & Field All-Academic Team.
The criteria for teams to receive this honor is:
- Minimum 3.20 GPA for academic term of participation (track & field spring)
- Students must be considered full-time (12 hours or more) unless a special exemption exists from the NJCAA
- For team ranking and qualification, must have minimum ten (10) athletes for a track & field roster, and all athletes must be listed on either Regional or National roster
- Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale than 4.0 must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0]
- Remedial classes do not figure into GPA
In addition to the team award, several of the members were recognized by the USTFCCCA as NJCAA Men's Track & Field All-Academic Athletes. Jacob Gaitings, Jacob Quail, Amin Wagner, and Demetrius Wilson Jr. were tabbed with this honor.
The All-Academic Athlete title is given to all student-athletes who were nominated for the award who meet the criteria of:
- 3.40 GPA or higher for academic term of participation (track & field- spring)
- Student-athlete must be considered full-time (12 hours or more) unless a special exemption exists from the NJCAA
- Must be listed on either Regional or National roster
