Competitive Cheer Wins National Championship For Gameday Routine
The SUNY Broome competitive cheer team made its AmeriCheer Nationals debut over the weekend and delivered an incredible performance.
The SUNY Broome competitive cheer team made its AmeriCheer Nationals debut over the weekend and delivered an incredible performance.
The team participated in the AmeriCheer Hershey National competition, making its first trip to Nationals as a competitive program. The Hornets took the mat twice and delivered two outstanding efforts, bringing home a National Championship title in one routine and earning 2nd place in the other.
The Hornets were crowned the National Champion in the Collegiate Gameday routine, earning a final score of 87.60, which was more than 14 points higher than the 2nd place team. Additionally, SUNY Broome took 2nd place in the Collegiate All-Music Intermediate routine. The Hornets earned a score of 76.30, just narrowly trailing the National Champion team which had a score of 78.50.
To top off the great weekend, SUNY Broome achieved the highest score out of all collegiate teams at the competition, an amazing accomplishment that speaks to their talent, dedication, and hard work all season long.
