The men's cross country team will compete in the 2024 MSAC Conference Championship on Saturday.
The meet is hosted by MSAC opponent Finger Lakes CC.
Finger Lakes CC is the site of the Bruce Bridgeman Invitational, a meet which the Hornets opened their season with in September.
At that meet, lead runner Joseph Chermak took 13th place overall and registered a time of 32:30.6 in the 8K. Zavien Rouhana followed Chermak with a 20th place finish and a time of 34:03.9 in the 8K. Jacob Zajdel followed with a time of 41:39.0, then Lucas McPeak with a time of 42:01.2, and Demetrius Wilson Jr. rounded it out for the Hornets with a time of 43:46.3 in the 8K.
Most recently, the men competed in the SUNY Delhi Bronco Classic 5K. Chermak led the Hornets by finishing 7th overall and compiling a time of 19:08.80. Zajdel followed with a 22:48.20 mark, then Wilson Jr. at 24:15.10, McPeak at 24:15.40, and Rouhana 27:48.90.
While Chermak has led the team throughout the season, the shuffling of the 2-5 places from meet to meet has showcased each runner's ability to step up to the occasion at any time and have a big race.
The team is healthy and continuing to get better as it heads into the MSAC Championship meet. Good luck men!
