Broome traveled on Saturday to North East, PA to face Division I Mercyhurst NE and came home with their most convincing win of the season, besting the Saints 7-0. Behind Daisy Allen's hat trick, 2 goals from Linsey Howell, and goals by Lacey Cox and Hannah Faulkner, the Hornets evened their record at 2-2. Howell got on the board first in the 12th minute scoring the winning goal off a through ball from center mid Chloe Brauer, who also assisted on Howell's second goal. Allen put the game out of reach with goals in the 27th, 29th and 55th minute for her first collegiate hat trick. All three of her goals were assisted by sisters Karlee Howell (1) and Linsey Howell (2). The scoring continued with an unassisted goal in the 73rd minute by Lacey Cox, and finished off with a double assisted goal by Hannah Faulkner, assists going to Cox and Luccia Martucci. Rhiannon Beers got the start in goal and recorded her first collegiate win and shutout.
The Hornets are away in Auburn on Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. for a MSAC matchup with the Spartans from Cayuga CC.
