Peter Cruz from the baseball team was chosen as the SUNY Broome Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 13 through April 19, 2026. During the week, the Hornets hosted a doubleheader with Fulton-Montgomery CC. Cruz played an instrumental role in the Hornets winning both games and securing a sweep of the doubleheader. Peter secured the sweep by delivering a 7-1 win in the second game as he pitched a dominant complete game. Hurling all seven innings, Cruz allowed just one run and one walk while logging five strikeouts in a brilliant performance. The win was Cruz's third of the season. Peter has pitched a complete game in all three of his wins.
