The women's soccer team defeated Jamestown CC on Saturday, 4-2 in a Region III matchup played on Alumni Field. The scoring was led off by Marissa Michitti on a PK that got by the Jamestown keeper, Rebecca Butcher, in the 24th minute. Nicole Madison added to the Hornets' lead at 27:05 when she received a cross from McKenna Williams and finished it into the lower right corner to send the host team into halftime with the 2-0 lead.
Broome got off to a good start in the second half with several shots on goal, but it was Jamestown that got on the board with goals from Sarah Russin and Annalise Boyer, tying the game in the 56th minute. The Hornets answered back with goals by Allison O'Shea off a second Williams assist, and in the 78th minute Jordan McGinnis finished the scoring with a 25 yard finish off assists by Megan Canzler and O'Shea. Paige Finch kept Broome in the game with 13 saves in net on the afternoon.
The Hornets (8-5-1 overall; 6-5-1 RegionIII) travel to Tompkins Cortland CC (9-5 overall; 8-5 Region III) to closeout the regular season in a MSAC game on Wednesday.
